Parvus Meets Military & Aerospace Customers’ Demand for Popular RTOS by Extending Support to DuraCOR® Mission Computer Platforms
Amaro (Italy), July 21st 2011 – Eurotech subsidiary Parvus announces support for Wind River’s VxWorks Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) across its entire rugged MIL/COTS DuraCOR® mission computer product line, which includes the DuraCOR 810-Duo, DuraCOR 810, DuraCOR 820 and DuraCOR 830. The RTOS that supports over one billion embedded systems worldwide, VxWorks is increasingly used by aerospace and military prime contractors where deterministic, high performance operation is required. Parvus now extends VxWorks support to all of its MIL-qualified x86-architecture Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) DuraCOR subsystems to reduce time to deployment and integration costs for its customers. Parvus is part of the Eurotech Group, which is a Wind River Strategic Hardware Partner.

Parvus has developed Board Support Packages (BSPs) for VxWorks 6.8 to support Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, Intel® Pentium® M, and Intel® Atom™-based DuraCOR mission computer products. These BSPs were made using Wind River’s Workbench 3.2 development environment. Parvus application and design engineering teams can tailor pre-integrated subsystems with VxWorks to support particular program requirements, such as application-specific I/O interfaces. With pre-integrated subsystems, customers reduce their learning curve and risk, leverage open-architecture, modular PC104 hardware, and extend base functionality to maximize use of COTS content.

Amaro, Udine (Italy) September 12, 2005 The Eurotech Group has announced the availability of a new Board Support Package (BSP) for its popular CPU-1432 PC/104-Plus embedded computer and Wind River’s VxWorks real time operating system (RTOS). The release of this new BSP comes at the same time as Eurotech?s announcement of a formal partnership with Wind River Systems, Inc., the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO).

?Our alliance with Wind River is a natural progression of Eurotech?s BSP development initiative,” said Mark Santo, Eurotech Group’s vice president for the Americas and president of Parvus Corporation. “We now extend device driver support to VxWorks, one of the industry’s most widely adopted RTOS’s — and one that is particularly relied upon by our aerospace and defense (A&D) customers.”

The partnership with Wind River extends across Eurotech Group?s global embedded computing companies: Parvus? Corporation in the USA, Erim in France and Eurotech in Europe and Asia. Support for VxWorks will roll out for the companies? PC/104, PC/104-Plus and PCI-104 embedded processor boards and add-on modules based on market demand.

The first BSP released by the Eurotech Group is for the CPU-1432, a fanless 64-bit Pentium-class PC/104-Plus single board computer (SBC) with onboard Fast Ethernet and LCD interfaces. Developed for Tornado 2.2/VxWorks 5.5, the CPU-1432 VxWorks BSP will enable customers who are building devices on the VxWorks platform to configure their systems more rapidly and develop software applications in a shorter timeframe.
