The Eurotech Group’s ranking on TOP500 Global Supercomputer List further establishes its leadership in embedded and HPC markets
Exadron, the division of Eurotech Group for high performance computing, builds 209th fastest supercomputer for CILEA of Italy
Amaro (Ud-Italy) September 9, 2004 – The Eurotech Group today announced that its high performance computing (HPC) division, Exadron, is now ranked no. 209 on the TOP500 global supercomputer list for its Myrinet-type cluster computer “Avogadro”, built on behalf of the Italian research organization CILEA (www.cilea.it). The 23rd semi-annual TOP500 rankings (www.top500.org) were recently published at the International Supercomputer Conference (ISC) 2004 in Heidelberg, Germany.
“We are very proud of the CILEA cluster, which delivers an amazing 1.08 Teraflops of parallel processing performance to the European scientific and GRID community – said Giampietro Tecchiolli, head of the Exadron Division – The system is built using a total of 256 Pentium 4 Xeon 3.06Ghz processors clustered together using independent and specialized Myrinet and Gigabit networks. A total of 6.4 Terabytes of external and redundant storage complete the configuration to deliver an extraordinary price versus performance ratio.”
